Chadron State College’s theatre program has set its cast for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” the first production of the 2011-2012 academic year.

Six CSC students will play the parts of the timeless characters created by Charles Schulz in his comic strip, “Peanuts.” The play will run Oct. 6-9 in the Memorial Hall auditorium.

The cast includes Ammon Weser of Provo, Utah, as Charlie Brown, Derek Phelps of Sidney as Linus, Willis Miller of Deer Trail, Colo., as Schroeder, Jayma Loghry of Sidney as Lucy, Lauren Morris of Denver as Sally and Ashley Daniels of Sheridan, Wyo., as Snoopy.

Roger Mays, the play’s director, said it will be perfect for children and their parents, and no less ideal for college students.

“Charlie Brown” is one of four productions on the schedule for CSC’s theatre program, and the only one being promoted for “the entire family.” Other plays on the schedule are “Doubt,” Nov. 17-20, “An Adult Evening with Shel Silverstein,” Feb. 9-12, 2012, both for mature audiences. The final play, “Bus Stop,” on April 19-22, 2012, is billed as suitable for viewers age 13 and up.

Tickets may be obtained in advance by contacting the CSC box office at 308-432-6207 or boxoffice@wxzjnt.com.
